British entrepreneur and media personality Steven Bartlett, founder of Flight Group and host of the global business podcast Diary of a CEO, has announced his engagement after orchestrating a surprise proposal in Morocco.

Bartlett disclosed that he secretly travelled into Morocco on Christmas Day while his partner was on holiday with her family, having initially led her to believe he was in Europe.

He said he first sought the blessing of her parents before arranging the proposal. The plan, however, took an unexpected turn when a thunderstorm was forecast shortly before the moment, forcing him to quickly construct an outdoor shelter to protect the setting.

The proposal unfolded when his partner thought she was heading out to meet her family for dinner, only to be surprised by Bartlett, who emerged to ask for her hand in marriage.

Reflecting on the milestone, the entrepreneur noted that although he once struggled to understand the concept of marriage, meeting the right person had given him clarity and a new perspective.

The announcement has since attracted widespread congratulatory messages from fans and public figures across the business and media space.
