The Nigeria Senate has today approved emergency rule in Rivers state while calling for mediation.

Senate resolves that President Tinubu Review or terminate the state of emergency at any given time not later than the 6 months.

Senate passes resolution to be provided authority to set up an adhoc committee comprising both chambers to oversight Rivers state.

However, the Senate rresolvd that a committee of eminent Nigerians be set up to reconcile parties in Rivers state within the period of emergency.
