
Sen. Ahmed Wadada (APC/Nasarawa West) has donated cash and vehicles to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) despite his recent defection from the party back to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
Wadada made the donation to Nasarawa state officials of SDP recently in Keffi local government area.

Our reporter gatherer that Wadada some years back had left the APC to SDP to contest the Nasarawa West senatorial election at the 2023 general elections which he won, but recently defected back the APC.
The senator at the event donated a total sum of N10 million, N2Million to each Chairman and executives of the SDP in the five local government areas in Nasarawa West, with five Volkswagen Sharan Minivans.
Speaking at the event, Wadada told the gathering that his decision to support the SDP despite his defection was borne out of gratitude and principle and also emphasized that true leadership transcends party lines and is anchored on service, loyalty, and appreciation.
“It would be an act of ingratitude to walk away from the platform that stood by me when I needed it most. The SDP gave me the opportunity to serve my people, and I will never forget that,” he said.
The senator explained that his upbringing, deeply rooted in moral and religious values, taught him to always honor his beginnings.
He added that no man rises without the help of others and that those who forget their foundation only display arrogance and ingratitude hence the motivation to support his former party, SDP.
Wadada then reaffirmed his belief that leadership should not be about selfish ambition but about building bridges and uplifting humanity.
He also stressed that his love for the people of Nasarawa West goes beyond political boundaries, noting that he will continue to serve everyone regardless of their political affiliation.
“Leadership is about service, not division. Whether you are in the APC, SDP, or any other party, my duty is to represent you with fairness and sincerity. My allegiance is first to the people before any party,” he said.
In his remarks, Alhaji Danlami Musa, Chairman of SDP in Nasarawa state speaking on behalf of the party executives, expressed deep gratitude to the senator, describing him as a rare breed in Nigerian politics.
He lauded Wadada’s courage, generosity, and consistency, calling him “a leader who leads with heart and reason.”
He added that Senator Wadada remains an asset to Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large and is an example of what political leadership should look like.
“He is not only passionate about improving lives but also committed to creating opportunities for others,” he said.
Speaking earlier, Mr Ramalan Bello, Director-General of Wadada’s Campaign Organization, informed the gathering that the senator had formally joined the APC and may no longer attend future meetings as an SDP member.
He then emphasized that Wadada’s gesture was a clear demonstration that politics can be played without bitterness. END
