Ahead of the Gubernatorial election slated for 14th March, 2023, the Taraba state governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, has recently been suspended by the state chapter of the APC due to the crisis in the party which has taken a dangerous dimension its governorship candidate, over alleged anti-party activities about one week to the election.
However, it was gathered that the party has earlier directed its candidate, Bwacha to do the needful they instructed, “suspend the related illegal activities (campaign) and appear before the fact-finding committee on March 13 2023 to defend the allegations raised against you in a petition or face heavy consequences.”
In response Bwacha also reacted when contacted, he said, “Fake news. The signatories are not ward officials of APC. You (can) double-check with the party, please. It’s the handiwork of desperate losers in the primaries.”
This suspension was said to have been contained in a letter dated March 8 and signed by all the Mararaba, Donga Local Government ward executives of the APC, was obtained by our correspondent on Sunday.
While the decision came on the heels of another contentious Federal High Court judgment which also ordered the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recently recognise Bwacha as the governorship candidate of APC in Taraba State.
