The Federal Government of Nigeria has recently announced an increment on the fee for acquiring a National Identity Number NIN verification for passport renewal.
It was gathered that, the new fee will drastically increase the cost of obtaining a Nigerian passport both locally and internationally.
Even though the Federal government stressed that, the fee will enable to streamline passport processing and improve the speed of any application.
In a statement issued by the Head of Corporate Communications of Nigeria Identification Management Commission (NIMC), Mr. Kayode Adegoke, reveals that Nigerians seeking to verify their NIN will have to part with N1,000 while those within African countries will pay $5 and those from other countries will also pay $15.
