The American R&B star, Chris Brown, has recently revealed his love for Nigerian afrobeats musuc which he plays whenever he is less busy with his own songs.
The crooner disclosed this in a recent episode of the Million Dollarz Worth Of Game podcast.
He said, “If I’m not playing my music, I play Afrobeats. I love how the genre is blossoming and all the recognitions is dope.
“I have been listening to [afrobeats] for a while. Me and Wiz (Wizkid) we got like an afrobeats-type song on my album (Breezy)”
Chris Brown has worked with many Nigerian afrobeats singers including Wizkid, Davido, Rema, Fireboy, and Lojay.
He won the Best International Act at the 2022 Nigerian music award show, Headies Awards.
He concluded that the genre deserves all the global accolades it’s getting.
