SANWO-OLU REITERATES COMMITMENT TO QUALITATIVE EDUCATION AT CHARTERHOUSE LAGOS LAUNCH
The Governor of Lagos State. Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to qualitative education.
He disclosed this on Tuesday at Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel, Victoria Island, during the official launch of Charterhouse Lagos, a full-fledged British educational institution.
According to him, the Lagos State Government carries out effective monitoring to ensure strict compliance with regulations and standards.
He said, “The establishment of Charterhouse Lagos serves as a prime example of the power of public-private partnerships to provide a quality education that will broaden the horizon of children and expose them to new curricula of globally acceptable skills to compete favourably on the world stage which aligns with the major component of the “E” pillar of the State’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ agenda, which stands for Education and Technology.
The Governor represented by the Secretary to the State Government, ‘Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, submitted that the collaboration between Charterhouse and the Government in bringing the institution to Lagos serves as a prime example of the power of public-private to
enhance the quality of education in Lagos State.
He expressed his happiness that Charterhouse’s groundbreaking in Africa is situated in Lagos, describing it as an acknowledgement of the international community to his administration’s strident efforts in the area of education.
The British Deputy High Commissioner, Johnny Baxter in his address, said the Charterhouse Lagos is bringing not just the brand but the same standard of education Nigerians will get from a British School in the United Kingdom but immersed in the Nigerian culture thereby giving their students the best of British education in a multicultural environment.
The Head of Charterhouse Lagos, Mr. John Todd said he and his team are bringing world-class education to Nigerian and African parents inspired by Britain and delivered in Lagos with Charterhouse’s traditions and values.
He noted that every pupil that would be admitted into the primary and secondary schools would receive a world-class British education in Lagos without travelling to the United Kingdom.
The Charterhouse Lagos schools is being built on 70 hectares of land in Lekki and the first phase is expected to be ready by July 2024.
