Information has shown that, Samuel Inyang, a former managing director of Shell Nigeria Gas Ltd., has passed away.
The engineer passed away on July 31 at the age of 74 after a brief illness, according to a statement issued by his son Itorobong Inyang.
Before being named managing director of Shell Nigeria Gas Ltd., Inyang served as the general manager of production for Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Ltd. in the east.
He worked at Shell E&P International as a change manager for globalization, for Africa.
Between 2000 and 2006, he served as a representative of the oil industry on the Niger Delta Development Commission’s board. He was also a founding member of the Nigerian Gas Association (1979–1977) and a director of the Lagos chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (1997–1999).
The Nigeria Society of Engineers recognized him as a member.
Inyang was the CEO of Seyang Limited, a Nigerian firm that specializes in civil engineering, up to his passing.
Additionally, Inyang established a fund at St. Louise’s Inclusive School in Ikot Ekpene to aid in the education of those who are physically challenged.
He was a native of Akwa Ibom State’s Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area.
