Rotary Club Port Harcourt Odili Meadow Prepares for New Interact Club Charter.

Port Harcourt, November 18, 2024: The Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Odili Meadow is making strides toward fostering youth leadership and community service as it gears up for the chartering of a new Interact Club at Christian Council College, Elekahia.

This initiative is set to provide students with a platform to develop leadership skills, promote teamwork, and engage in meaningful service projects.

In preparation for the upcoming charter, the provisional Interact Club of Christian Council College successfully held its first Board of Directors election.

The election, conducted with the guidance of Rotarians from the sponsoring club, was a transparent process that saw students enthusiastically participating.

The elected officers include:

President: Akpan Blessing

Vice President: Ransom Agba

Treasurer: Achor Desire

Secretary: Aholu Joshua

Sergeant-at-Arms: Oroma Joel

The highlight of the event was the announcement that Akpan Blessing, the club’s President, will represent Christian Council College at the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA) 2024, reflecting the Rotary Club’s commitment to nurturing young leaders.

Assistant Governor Ajoke Enebeli and the club’s New Generation Chair Rtn. Linda Njoku played pivotal roles in mentoring the students and providing insights into the responsibilities and values of being an Interactor.

The chartering ceremony/Presentation weeks, will mark the official inauguration of the Interact Club, solidifying its role as a training ground for future Rotarians.

The Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Odili Meadow continues to demonstrate its dedication to empowering the next generation through meaningful youth engagement programs, aligning with Rotary International’s mission of “Service Above Self.”
