….Promise timely refuse collection as the agency secures new dumpsites
Under the leadership of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS the management of RIWAMA has prioritized improving waste management practices by constructing new access roads to all the dumpsites and discovering more suitable dumpsites.
This initiative is aimed at improving operational efficiency and reduce environmental hazards. In the past, Compactor trucks spend hours and sometimes breakdown trying to discharge refuse due to bad access roads, the new RIWAMA Management is taking proactive steps towards solving that problem.
During a site-inspection tour on Saturday, RIWAMA’s Managing Director, Dr. Ibimina Wokoma, highlighted that the state’s waste evacuation process is set to become more efficient due to the newly improved access roads to dumpsites. This development is expected to enable timely refuse collection, ultimately enhancing waste management in the state.
Dr. Wokoma emphasized the importance of proper waste disposal practices and the agency’s commitment to maintaining a clean environment.
