The Rivers state Independent Electoral Commission has unveiled the voters register to be used for the October 5 Local Government elections in the state.
Addressing journalists, the chairman of the Commision, Rtd Justice Adolphus Enebeli said the Commision received the voters register from INEC before every legal issues came up “the sixth Commision under my charge, we are very proactive, a Wiseman can never be taken unawares. We are proactive , we followed due process, even before the cases went to court, we have liased with INEC, the correspondence are there, that is it. It is the gift of patience and planning. I’m not a last minute man, I plan ahead and so all this things were concluded since last year. The display of the register will be carried out in all the 6866 polling units in the 23 LGAs of Rivers state.”.
The RSIEC chairman assured voters that the Commision will not take sides with any political party.
