The Delta State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Akinsanya Iskilu Abiodun has charged Journalist in the State to be factual and constructive with respect to Critics in their mode of practice as it relates to journalism and the media.
Commandant Akinsanya Iskilu Abiodun of the NSCDC disclosed this, through the Commands Public Relations Officer DSC Emeka Peters Okwechime when he paid an advocacy visit to the General Manager of the Delta Broadcasting Service DBS Asaba Mr Frank whyte Osabohien in his office in Asaba the State Capital.
Dsc Okwechime who described the NSCDC as one of the most Civilised, Proactive and proficient security agency in Nigeria who uses the stones thrown at us to build castles.
He maintained that critics, fertilizes the growth, development, morale boosters and operational standard of the NSCDC but such critics must be factual and constructive.
He further noted that the agency welcomes critics even progressive suggestions from the public which turns out as catalyst for growth, development for the agency.
The NSCDC Mouthpiece noted that for any tree to grow tall and big, it must first shed it’s old leaves or branches to embrace freshness and growth. The NSCDC is poised to prune any of its leaves, stem, nor branches in order to grow tall, big and to remain fresh through constructive and factual critics both from public and private individuals.
It will be recalled that the NSCDC is one of the fastest growing federal government proactive paramilitary security agency in Nigeria today saddled with numerous responsibilities which includes but not limited to the protection of life and property, gather first hand reliable intelligent information, to provide necessary informations for the civilian populace in times of danger, to rescue civil populace from danger prone areas, register, license, train private security guards, etc with verifiable and significant achievements in the fight against insecurity available in our nation’s security history.
On his part, the General Manager of the Delta Broadcasting Service DBS Asaba Mr Frank Whyte Osabohien who lauded the Activities and achievements of the NSCDC in the State, promised use its platforms to showcase the activities of the NSCDC to the world.
He stated that the DBS, will continue to partner and synergize with the NSCDC for a prompt and accurate reportage of the plans, programme and activities of the Corps
The highlight of the visit was marked by the presentation of the NSCDC Act and the corps mandates by the NSCDC Image Maker Dsc Emeka Peters Okwechime to the general manager of the Delta Broadcasting Service Asaba Mr Frank whyte Osabohien.
