PHOTOS: Gov. Sanwo-Olu Commends Prince’s Trust International, Task For More Entrepreneurship Opportunity
Lagos state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has received the management team of Prince’s Trust International recently on Wednesday at his Lagos House.
Sanwo-Olu Commends them on their efforts in empowering the youths while remarking that he firmly believe in the power of partnership to tackle youth unemployment.
He thereby calls on the team to increase its collaboration between the Government, private sector, and NGOs as together, more opportunities can be created and unemployment rates will also be reduced.
In his statement he expressed, “Today, I had the privilege of receiving the leadership of Prince’s Trust International, a global youth charity. Their commitment to supporting youth empowerment aligns perfectly with our vision for Lagos.
“Through the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), we have already supported over 50,000 new MSMEs established by young people. But the demand is growing, and we need to do more. We must provide more investment funding opportunities for the youth.
“I am impressed by the work of Prince’s Trust International, and I urge them to channel their funds towards creating more opportunities for entrepreneurs in need of business development skills and seed capital. This will widen employability and encourage the growth of MSMEs.
“To equip our young people for success, we need to focus on skill development. “The recently launched Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) aims to provide knowledge and industry-specific expertise. We must empower our youth to thrive in the modern economy.
“Technology has removed barriers in the modern economy, and we must embrace it. I commend Prince’s Trust International for embedding technology into their intervention programs in Nigeria. Together, we can scale up our efforts and make a real impact on youth employment.
“The journey to reduce youth unemployment is just beginning, and I am grateful for the support and commitment of Prince’s Trust International. Together we will create a brighter future for our youth.
“Let’s make it happen.”
