Petrol Tanker Explosion that Burnt Down Business Premises In Awka Anambra State 

Pandemonium broke out in Awka the Anambra state capital as as fire guts one of the popular petrol stations in the city.

Ngozi Okekearu who was at the fire scene reports that though no life was lost, vehicles and buildings were torched and businesses affected.

Eye witness reccounts that the inferno which raged for over three hours with fire service battling to contain the situation started from the fuel tanker discharging fuel into the underground tank of the station under intense heat of the sun.

They blamed lack of caution on part of both the station and driver of the truck for the disaster.
