Mr Mohammed Ahmed, Chairman of Nasarawa local government area in Nasarawa state says peace and normalcy has been restored to the area after a series of insecurity challenges recently.

He stated this in an interview with newsmen in Nasarawa local government area of the state on Tuesday.
According to him, there were some crisis in the area recently between herdsmen and other tribes especially in Mararaba Udege and Farin Durse communities but with the help of the state governor, Abdullahi Sule and security outfits, normalcy and peace has been restored in the area.
“We were able to get support from military and police personnel and we were also able to talk to the people, talked to the Fulani leaders to let peace reign.
“The traditional council here also really contributed to the restoration of peace in the area. I can tell you that in Mararaba today people have gone back to their farms and the markets and they are going about their lawful businesses.
“Right now we are enjoying peace in the area and my administration will do everything possible to maintain the current status,” he said.
He noted that aside the success in securing peace in the area, his administration has concluded plans to upgrade four Primary Health Care Centres to standard so as to improve healthcare service delivery to the people of the area.
“We want to revitalize these PHCs so that the less privileged patients that cannot afford to go to the general or private hospitals to access efficient healthcare service.
“We will upgrade two PHCs in Nasarawa town, one in Udege town and another one in Loki town. We will carry out the upgrading within a short period so people can as soon as possible begin to enjoy better service delivery” he said.
He also pointed out that his administration is also committed to improving education facilities in the area hence the decision to upgrade secondary and primary schools in order to create a conducive environment for learning.
“I have had series of discussions with the Education Secretary in this LGA, Parents Teachers Association on the way forward and we agreed on renovation of the schools was necessary,” he said. END
