A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, has commenced the process of stopping aggrieved members from leaving the Oyo State chapter of the party.
He hosted the meeting to stop defections from the APC and make it stronger at his residence in Ibadan on Monday.
He said he was more committed to the unity and progress of the party in the Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo state than his own personal interest.
Olaosebikan, who is a former Chief Press Secretary to the late Governor Lam Adesina, started the move after his loss in the primary election for Oluyole Federal Constituency of Oyo State.
Olaosebikan was reported to have said that the unity of the party should be paramount while urging all aggrieved members to support those who emerged in the interest of the party.
He said, “We must do everything to bring back members that had left and dissuade those on the verge of leaving.
“We have to do these to guarantee progress for APC and ultimately win all the forthcoming elections in Oluyole and Oyo State and Nigeria.”
Olaosebikan told the stakeholders that he had put the issues of the party primary poll behind him and stressed that it was high time members reunited for the progress of the party in all the wards.
He was said to have secured a firm commitment of those present to remain in APC and to collectively work for the unity and progress of the party.
Those present were said to have hailed Olaosebikan for his strong belief in party supremacy and his patriotism despite being allegedly cheated.
