The Soludo campaign train arrived Oyi and Dunukofia local government areas on Saturday in continuation of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA), campaign ahead of the November 6, governorship election.
Governor Willie Obiano, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, APGA gubernatorial candidate and the Deputy Governor candidate, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim were received by thousands of Supporters with the LGA Transition Committee Chairman, Hon John Nnamdi Nwadiogbu at the Ohi LGA.
The TC chairman praised Governor Willie Obiano for his outstanding achievements in the state. He promised to deliver the 15 Wards in the LGA for APGA.
Hon. Charles Obimma, Member Representing Ohi at the State House of Assembly and Hon. Onuchie Ukpuechina, APGA chairman in the LGA, also promised to work hard towards delivering the zone to APGA.
Responding, Cee Cee Soludo thanked the people for the warm reception accorded him and the Governor. He emphasised that Oyi is a blessed land having produced leaders like Dr Chuba Okadigbo, Dr Tim Menakaya and several other outstanding sons and daughters of Anambra extraction.
He assured the people that Governor Willie Obiano has laid the foundations on which he would build on.
He stated that his government will set aside N5 billion as capital finance fund to assist business start-ups for the youths. He also promised to create a business friendly environment that will create 130,000 private sector led jobs annually as well as 1000 youth millionaires every year.
He reiterated that part of his agenda as contained in his manifesto is to
empower the youths, women and the vulnerables. He therefore called on the people to vote APGA and the Soludo/Ibezim ticket come November 6, 2021for progress and continuity.
Governor Willie Obiano, on his part, also thanked the people. He assured them that Soludo will continue from where he stopped, adding that the APGA gubernatorial candidate has the capacity to perform and will do exactly as he has promised.
The campaign train later moved to Dunukofia LGA where they were received by the TC chairman, Hon Patrick Chinweze and thousands of jubilant supporters.
The TC chairman identified some roads that need attention and also made a case for large population of non-indigenes who also need jobs in the local government.
Both the TC chairman and APGA local government chairman also promised to deliver the 14 wards in Ohi to APGA in the forthcoming governorship election in the State.
Hon. Mark Okoye, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning called for greater attention to be accorded the youths in the LGA through massive job creation. He equally assured of total victory for the party at the LGA.
Responding, Cee Cee Soludo described Anambra State as a ‘melting pot and a home for all’. He added that non-indigenes are highly welcome to Oyi LGA and Anambra State as a whole. He reiterated again that his manifesto is all about job creation and more job creation.
He promised to complete the roads as requested by the TC chairman. He thereafter charged the people to come in their thousands to vote APGA and Soludo/Ibezim ticket come November 6, 2021.
Governor Willie Obiano again thanked the people for their reception and support, adding that Soludo will do exceedingly well as the next governor of Anambra. He enjoined the people to come out enmasse to vote for APGA and the Soludo/Ibezim ticket.
Other speakers at the rally include: Prof Solo Chukwulobelu, Director-General of the Campaign Council and Secretary to the State Government; Hon Chinedu Obidigwe, member Representibg Anambra East and West Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives and several others.
