The Osun State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Oluwatosin Odeyemi, on Friday said the ruling All Progressives Congress had created fear in the ranks of other opposition parties ahead of the poll, alleging that the party was planning to engage in vote-buying.
Odeyemi, who disclosed this in an exclusive chat with Saturday PUNCH, also said the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party was not telling the electorate its programmes, if its candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, emerged victorious in the poll.
He then charged the electorate to reject the two parties and embrace the NNPP who he said was having the youngest candidate and better plans for the people of Osun State.
He said, “You can look around; the APC has caused panic among opposition parties. We are scared because of the plan by the APC to engage in vote-buying.
“As for the PDP, the party is divided and they are not even telling the electorate what they have as programmes if their candidate wins the poll. They are not campaigning.
“As for NNPP, we are parading the youngest candidate and we are not in the race to cause problem. No do or die in our own party. We have good plans for the state if we are given the opportunity. If not, then we believe people’s decision remain supreme.”
Reacting, the Director, Media and Strategy of Osun PDP, Oladele Oluwabamiji, said Odeyemi could not assess the PDP since he was not in the know of what the party was doing, and urged him to concentrate on building the NNPP in the state.
Also, Media Adviser to Osun APC chairman, Kola Olabisi, said the NNPP chieftain should be ignored and urged Odeyemi to prove his allegations against the party.
