The statement is titled ‘Osinbajo to represent President Buhari tomorrow at Kenya’s Presidential inauguration.’

During the event which will be attended by at least 20 Heads of State, outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta will hand over the instruments of power including a ceremonial sword and a copy of Kenya’s Constitution to the new president.

The PUNCH reported that Ruto emerged winner of the August 9 presidential elections.

However, his electoral victory was challenged by the candidate of the Azimio la Umoja, Rails Odinga who was contesting the Presidency for the fifth time.

However, the Kenyan supreme court ruled in favour of Ruta last week, affirming his victory nearly a month after being declared winner.

Nigeria and Kenya share warm and long-standing diplomatic relations underpinned by strong economic cooperation and cultural affinities.

Osinbajo is accompanied on the trip by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Zubairu Dada, and the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu.

He is expected back in Abuja later on Tuesday.
