Petition Regarding Violation of Instructions on Nomination of Individuals for Appointments in Delta State.
Your Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff.F.O. Oborevwori and Barrister Kingsley Esiso,
We, the concerned members of the Delta State People’s Democratic Party (PDP), write this petition to bring to your attention a grave matter that has recently come to light regarding the violation of instructions given by the Party Chairman of Delta State PDP regarding the nomination of individuals for various appointments in Delta State.
We are deeply disturbed to learn that some of the PDP Local Government Party Chairmen have disregarded the explicit instructions provided by the Party Chairman. As per the instructions, the leaders of each ward were required to nominate three individuals, namely an elderly person, a youth not exceeding 40 years of age, and a woman. These nominations were meant to contribute to the overall development and inclusivity within the Delta State Government.
Regrettably, it has come to our attention that in the past, some ward leaders have abused their power by nominating their relatives living abroad who have no tangible contributions to the emergence of previous Governors of Delta State. These individuals would conveniently return to Nigeria after each election solely to process their appointments with the Delta State Government. It is important to note that there was a caution against nominating siblings, relations (girlfriends or wives), and this instruction has been blatantly disregarded.
We hereby implore Your Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff.F.O. Oborevwori, and Barrister Kingsley Esiso, the current Party Chairman of Delta State PDP, to thoroughly investigate these allegations. We have gathered detailed information regarding the wards where the instructions from the Party Chairman have been abused. It is our sincere belief that neglecting these allegations will sow the seeds of rebellion within the party, causing more harm than good in the long run.
In light of these concerns, we insist that the nomination lists be rejected and reviewed, if they have already been submitted. It is vital that a fair and transparent process is followed, ensuring that deserving individuals who have actively contributed to the betterment of Delta State are appointed.
We kindly request Your Excellency and Barrister Kingsley Esiso to take swift action to address this matter and ensure that justice is served. By doing so, you will not only restore faith in the PDP but also uphold the values of integrity, fairness, and inclusivity that the party stands for.
Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. We remain hopeful that our concerns will be given due consideration and appropriate actions will be taken to rectify the situation.
