In a move that has sent waves of excitement across Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA), the Executive Chairman, Hon. Prince Isaac Umejuru, has delivered on his campaign promise by approving the long-awaited 2024 ONELGA student bursary. With a bold step just two weeks into office, the Chairman has ignited hope among students, many of whom had lost faith in previous administrations.

The first batch of 500 beneficiaries, out of the 2,000 verified under the leadership of former CTC Chairman Pastor Princewill Ejekwe, is set to receive a N50,000 stipend each, starting Monday, October 21, 2024. This landmark initiative marks a major shift after 16 years of neglect under past administrations, as students finally receive the support they’ve long deserved.

Announcing the commencement of payments, the Chairman’s Special Assistant on Student Affairs, Tina Bright Odukwu, urged students to remain patient as the disbursement will be done in batches, assuring that every verified student will be paid. She added that post-graduate students are also included in the bursary payment.

Prince Isaac Umejuru’s decisive action has rekindled the faith of ONELGA students in the local government’s commitment to their welfare, proving that this administration is determined to fulfill its promises and change the narrative.

This groundbreaking initiative is expected to inspire confidence in ONELGA’s future, as the Chairman continues to make bold moves aimed at uplifting the youth and the education sector of the region.
