ONELGA Chairman Isaac Umejuru Honored by GGN, Announces N8 Million Marine Training Sponsorship for Youth

Hon. Prince Isaac Umejuru, the Executive Chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA), has been honored with a prestigious award of excellence by the Greater Generation Association of Nigeria (GGN) in recognition of his transformative leadership and community contributions.
The award was presented to the ONELGA Boss during a courtesy visit by GGN members at the ONELGA Council Secretariat. GGN National President, Mr. Semi Yomma, praised Hon. Umejuru’s remarkable achievements, including advancements in infrastructure, environmental sustainability, and youth development initiatives.
“ONELGA is now a beautiful, clean, and well-organized community, and this success is attributed to the chairman’s tireless efforts. His innovative approach to governance has set a benchmark for leadership. We are proud to honor him with this award,” Mr. Yomma remarked during the presentation.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Umejuru expressed gratitude for the recognition and used the occasion to announce a groundbreaking initiative to empower ONELGA’s youth. The chairman revealed his sponsorship of a GGN member for professional marine training, valued at 8 million Naira, aimed at equipping the youth with critical skills for the global maritime industry.
“This award inspires me to do more for our community,” Hon. Umejuru said. “Real empowerment is not about providing money or awards; it’s about giving our youth the tools to access lasting, global opportunities. This Navy Marine training is a monumental step in that direction and aligns with my vision of sustainable, impactful programs for ONELGA’s future.”
The chairman’s announcement was met with enthusiasm and gratitude from the gathered youth, who expressed excitement about the prospect of gaining internationally recognized skills.
