The Ondo State Government has dismissed reports circulating on social media and messaging platforms alleging that a kidnapping occurred in a school within Akure metropolis.
In a statement, the government clarified that there is no record or report of any kidnapping incident in any primary, secondary, or tertiary institution in Akure, stressing that all schools in the state capital remain safe and fully operational.
According to the government, security agencies, including the Police, Amotekun Corps, and the Department of State Services (DSS), have verified all school environments in Akure and confirmed that normal academic activities are ongoing without disruption.
The government urged parents, guardians, and members of the public to disregard the false information and avoid spreading unverified reports capable of causing panic and anxiety.
It reaffirmed that the safety of pupils, students, and teachers remains a top priority of the Aiyedatiwa administration and encouraged residents with genuine security concerns to report them to the nearest police or Amotekun station.
