The oldest monarch in Delta state, His Majesty Richard Ogbon, Ogoni-Oghoro 1, the oldest monarch in Delta State, Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area, has joined his ancestors at the age of 106.
It waa gathered that the monarch, a translated Ohworode was installed as the 12th Ohworode in 1988 at the age of 70, became also a Royal Canon and Chairman of the Urhobo nation’s Council of Traditional Rulers.
The demise of the renowed monarch was announced by the Olorogun Macaulay Ovbagbedia, the Otota of Olomu Kingdom on friday during an expanded meeting of the community’s high chiefs and thought leaders held within the Ohworode palace.
He said, “Today, we can confirm that our Ohworode has returned to God.” His life was remarkable; he served the government and his people admirably.
