NYSC Swears in 1895 Corps Members in Nasarawa

Keffi. Nov. 7, 2023 The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has sworn in 1895 corps members of the 2023 Batch C Stream I set deployed to Nasarawa state for their national service.

Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state declared the three weeks orientation course open at the swearing-in ceremony of the set at the Magaji Dan-Yamusa NYSC Permanent Orientation camp in Keffi local government area of the state on Tuesday.

Sule represented by Mr Ja’afaru Ango, Nasarawa state Commissioner for Youths and Sports congratulated the corps members on the successful completion of their academic pursuits which qualified them for national service.

He then assured them of his administration’s statutory responsibility to their welfare, security and general well-being.

 

“Let me place on record that Nasarawa state is peaceful. So be rest assured of your security, welfare and general well-being. Security is a too priority of my administration as indicated in the robust synergy between the state and security agencies,” he said.

 

The governor also commended all the course participants, NYSC management and collaborating agencies for their dedication to service and abiding faith in the core objectives of the NYSC.

 

“We shall continue to provide the needed support that will prove the scheme’s capacity to deliver on it’s mandate.

 

“While wishing you a successful, hitch free and rewarding orientation course, I enjoin you to shun all forms of negative vices and participate in your Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development training that will prepare you for economic development,” he added.

 

In his welcome address, Alhaji Abdullahi Jikamshi, Coordinator of the scheme in the state lauded the attitude of the corps members since the commencement of the orientation course which he described as outstanding with regards to their response to training.

 

“They have quickly acclimatized to the camp environment and have started engaging in activities. This is highly commendable,” he said.

 

He then expressed gratitude to the governor for giving a listening was to the Chairman, NYSC Governing Board and Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development over the needs of the NYSC in the state as presented to him.

 

“Your Excellency Sir, we look forward to your administration’s kind consideration and intervention as regards the construction of the 3000 capacity multi-purpose hall and more staff hostels,” he said.

 

He also advised the corps members to make the best use of every opportunity the orientation course will afford them and make discipline and patriotism their watch word.

 

“I equally challenge you to start working towards receiving commendation that can earn you Honours Awards right from the camp. This you can achieve by actively contributing your quota to the success of the orientation course,” he added.
