NUPRC Unveils Nigeria’s Longterm Energy Evolution Roadmap to Balance Economic Growth Others….details
The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (@NUPRCofficial) has unveiled Nigeria’s long-term “Energy Evolution” roadmap, designed to balance economic growth, energy access and climate action. NUPRC Commission Chief Executive, Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, presented the plan at the 2026 Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, saying Nigeria will expand renewables while retaining natural gas as a key transition fuel.
Eyesan said Nigeria’s energy transition is focused on replacing biomass, improving clean cooking access and ensuring reliable power for millions, while oil and gas remain central to growth. She urged global investors to support upstream projects, offshore innovation, gas infrastructure and cleaner technologies as Nigeria targets net-zero emissions by 2060.
