Katsina United supporters allegedly invaded the pitch at Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina, attacking Barau FC midfielder Nana Abraham after his team’s 69th-minute equaliser in their Nigerian Premier Football League match on Saturday.
Reports indicated that the Ghanaian international sustained a neck injury during the altercation but received immediate medical attention and managed to walk off the field. The game later resumed and ended in a 1-1 draw.
The incident has sparked widespread condemnation, with many calling on the NPFL to investigate the violence and strengthen security measures at league venues.
