The Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Edo State Chapter, Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson has issued a firm ultimatum to all local government council chairmen and government officials across the state ahead of the first ALGON meeting of 2026.

Ekpeson declared that any government official who fails to wear the customised or official face-cap bearing the insignia of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the General Superintendent of the All Progressives Congress (APC), will be barred from participating in any official meeting.

Ekpeson who doubles as the Etsako East Local Government Council Chairman noted that the directive is not merely about dress code, but a symbolic demonstration of loyalty, unity, and commitment to the leadership and ideals of the APC at both state and national levels.

“This administration stands on discipline, loyalty, and visible support for the leadership of our great party,” Ekpeson stated. “Anyone who cannot openly identify with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC leadership has no business sitting in meetings that shape the future of governance at the grassroots.”

He emphasized that local government officials are the closest representatives of government to the people and must, therefore, project a clear and unified political identity. The face-cap, he noted, represents solidarity with the Renewed Hope agenda and a public show of alignment with the party’s vision for national development.
