The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has hosted a high-level delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, led by Professor Dr. Ghassan Al-Nuaimi, to advance preparations for the 2026 Hajj and Umrah operations. NAHCON’s Commissioner for Operations, Prince Anofiu Elegushi, briefed the delegation on Nigeria’s readiness, covering airline arrangements, accommodation in Makkah and Madinah, and strict compliance with pre-departure documentation requirements.

Discussions focused on operational challenges, including Hajj slot reductions, accommodation and airlift constraints, Umrah visa delays, and compliance with updated health and safety standards. NAHCON also proposed structured training programmes and sought recognition of the Hajj Institute of Nigeria, as both sides reaffirmed sustained cooperation to ensure a safe, efficient, and successful 2026 Hajj for Nigerian pilgrims.
