The musician’s death was confirmed by Prince Tayo Adeolokun, chairman, TASMAN Equipment, a top musical equipment hiring company in Nigeria.

Emperor Pick Peters’ name would ring a bell in the ears of juju music lovers of old. Way back in the ‘70s, Pick Peters made waves when he engaged in a rift with top juju musician, King Sunny Ade.

The deceased released an album, Omo Ode De (Hunter’s Son Has Come), which was considered a response to King Sunny Ade’s song, Ekilo F’omo Ode (Hunter’s Son Be Warned) released on African Songs/TYC Records owned by the late Chief Bolarinwa Abioro. Since then, the nickname, Omo Ode (Hunter’s Son) stuck on him.

Before his death, Emperor Pick Peters tried to resuscitate his music career. But the move was not successful.
