
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has extended its congratulations to rising British-Nigerian heavyweight boxer Moses Itauma following his recent victory.

In a statement by Gabriel Odu of the Media, Public Relations, and Protocols Unit, NIDCOM praised Itauma’s win as a testament to the “discipline, resilience, and excellence for which Nigerians across the world are known.”
Born in Slovakia to a Nigerian father and a Slovak mother, Itauma moved to England, where he has quickly become one of the most promising prospects in heavyweight boxing.
NIDCOM highlighted that Itauma’s success is a source of inspiration for Nigerians in the diaspora and aspiring young athletes everywhere.

On Saturday night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 20-year-old Itauma stunned the boxing world by knocking out veteran Dillian Whyte in just 119 seconds during a headline heavyweight bout at the ANB Arena.
The emphatic first-round finish saw Itauma successfully defend his WBA International and WBO Inter-Continental heavyweight titles, while also clinching the vacant Commonwealth heavyweight crown.
With the victory, Itauma extended his unbeaten record to 13ā0 (11 KOs) and rose to No. 1 in the WBO rankings, cementing his status as one of boxingās most promising rising stars.
