A non-governmental organisation, Lift Above Poverty Organisation, has distributed cooking gas cylinders, cookware and others to over 44 women in Delta and Anambra states.
Presenting them the items in Asaba, the Client Public Relations Manager of LAPO, Mrs Osaro Onaghise, said, “We decided to award them with cooking gas cylinders and cookware to encourage them because of their contribution to the organisation. We selected the beneficiaries based on their performance with us, especially those who have been with us for over 10 years.”
She said the NGO would continue to support improved livelihoods for rural dwellers.
Mrs Rita Abutayeri and Peter Ike, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, applauded the NGO for the gesture.
