A bill proposing a single, non-renewable six-year tenure for the governor and deputy governors of theĀ Central Bank of NigeriaĀ (CBN) scaled second reading at the Ā house of representativesĀ on Thursday.
Section 8(2) of the CBN Act 2007 provides for a five-year tenure for the governor and deputy governors of the apex bank, whoĀ are also eligible for re-appointment for another five-year term.
