In a historic milestone, South African scientists have begun the first human trial of an AIDS vaccine developed entirely on African soil.
Conducted at the Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation in Cape Town, the trial involves 20 volunteers and aims to test the vaccine’s safety and immune response.

With roughly eight million people affected by AIDS, South Africa leads the world in cases, making this breakthrough a potential game-changer for the continent.
