“By the close of business today, the Federal Republic of Nigeria now operates the single largest fleet of electric vehicles in Africa. This is not just about buses – this is about delivering President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s promise to drastically reduce the cost of transportation, diversify our energy mix, and provide clean, reliable, and affordable mobility for millions of Nigerians.”

He added: “While we continue to aggressively roll out CNG vehicles and conversion centres nationwide, the parallel advancement of E-Mobility shows that Nigeria is not choosing one path – we are building every viable path to energy competitiveness.”

Barr. Ahmed closed the event with a promise of rapid scaling:

“This is how we end 2025 – with action, with delivery, with results. 2026 will be the year Nigeria becomes undisputed Africa’s leader in both CNG and Electric Mobility. More to come. The journey has only just begun. So God help us, Ameen.”
