NEWS Beep: Nigeria Secures Release of Detained Air Force Personnel Through Diplomatic Engagement
The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar (OON), has confirmed the safe release and arrival of eleven (11) Nigerian Air Force personnel in Accra on 19 December 2025 after their temporary detention in Burkina Faso due to an emergency landing, noting that the issue was resolved amicably through sustained diplomatic engagement with the Governments of Burkina Faso and Ghana, and reaffirming Nigeriaโs commitment to resolving regional matters through dialogue, mutual respect, and constructive diplomacy.
