The British Canadian University has appointed Adekojo Waheed as its new vice-chancellor for a five-year term.
Waheed, a professor of thermofluids and fluid mechanics at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, previously served as the institution’s deputy vice-chancellor (academic).

He holds a Doctor of Engineering Science in mechanical engineering from RWTH Aachen University in Germany, alongside Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the same field from the University of Ilorin.
He has received several academic honours, including a Commonwealth Fellowship at the University of Bath and a DAAD Scholarship for his doctoral studies.
He was also recognised as best graduating student and university scholar at the University of Ilorin.
Reacting to the development, FUNAAB vice-chancellor Babatunde Kehinde described the appointment as well deserved, citing Waheed’s academic pedigree and administrative experience.
Waheed is a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and a registered engineer with COREN.
