
The senate committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has cleared Teller Adeniran, former resident electoral commissioner (REC) in Oyo state, for confirmation as an electoral commissioner.
Adeniran, who previously served for four years in Oyo state, was reappointed by President Bola Tinubu and his name was forwarded to the senate for confirmation.

He appeared before the senate committee on INEC, chaired by Simon Lalong, senator representing Plateau south, for screening on Thursday.
The committee includes Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, senator representing Lagos east; Samson Ekong, senator representing Akwa Ibom south; Tony Nwoye, senator representing Anambra north; Titus Zam, senator representing Benue north-west; and Bassey Aniekan, senator representing Akwa Ibom north-east.
