Presently, the AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori said he never had the opportunity to consider playing for Nigeria because the Nigeria Football Federation did not reach out to him, despite his Nigerian roots and friendships with several Super Eagles players.
This he revealed while on the Filthy Fellas podcast, Tomori, who was born in Canada to Nigerian parents and raised in England, said many of his close friends represent Nigeria, but he was never contacted.

–βThey never called me, so there was no choice to make,β he said.

He explained that although he admired Nigeriaβs football culture and kept in touch with players in the squad, he simply pursued the option that was presented to him when England showed interest.
The 26-year-old centre back has long been viewed by Nigerian fans as one of the top foreign-born prospects the country could have attracted. His latest remarks confirm that he never received an approach or invitation from the NFF.
