Germany head coach, Julian Nagelsmann has confirmed that Manuel Neuer will remain Germany’s first choice goalkeeper for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to reports, Nagelsmann personally informed Hoffenheim goalkeeper Oliver Baumann during recent training camp discussions, making it clear that Neuer retains the top position despite being 40 years old.

The decision puts an end to speculation about a possible transition in goal for the national team ahead of the tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Neuer, widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers in football history, is expected to lead Germany’s squad as they aim for a strong World Cup campaign.
