The Stakeholders Sensitization and Training Workshop on Policy Reform and Digitization of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Procurement System continued in Owerri, underscoring the Commission’s commitment to transparency, competitiveness, and capacity building. The workshop highlighted the importance of e-procurement in preparing contractors and consultants across the Niger Delta for a digital procurement environment.

Speaking at the event, Director of Procurement, Dr. Chuks Osuji, commended the leadership of the Managing Director/CEO, Chief Samuel Ogbuku, PhD, noting that the initiative is aimed at positioning service providers in the Niger Delta region for national competitiveness while enhancing efficiency. The Imo State Representative on the NDDC Board, Kyrian Uchegbu, added that the reforms align with global best practices and will reduce corruption risks and improve accountability.

Also, the Director of the Imo State Office, Patrick Obayelu, noted that the initiative supports the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for Ministries, Departments and Agencies to transition to digital systems, stressing that it will improve governance and ensure value for money. The sensitization drive, which has held in Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River States, continues to advance the Commission’s digital transformation agenda across the region.
