The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) today, joined the Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) in Bonny, Rivers State, to close out the Advanced Human Capacity Development training for one hundred and twenty-two (122) young Nigerians under the Train 7 Project.
The programme offered hands-on training in plant maintenance, including instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, lifting and rigging, fabrication, and preventive and corrective maintenance with participants gaining rare exposure to live LNG plant operations. Remarkably, the training recorded zero lost time incidents.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe (FNSE, FIPS), the General Manager of Human Capital Development, Mr. Esueme Dan Kikile Esq., commended NLNG and its partners for investing in Nigerian talent. He praised the graduates for their resilience and noted that the initiative not only equips young professionals with advanced technical skills but also strengthens Nigeria’s capacity to retain value locally and compete globally in the oil and gas industry.
The Train 7 Project, one of Africa’s largest gas infrastructure developments, continues to generate jobs while advancing the Board’s Human Capital Development Guideline (2020), which requires major projects to deliberately train and empower Nigerians.
Ogbe reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to similar initiatives that boost skills, create opportunities, and drive sustainable economic growth.
