The Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has today Monday 11th September, 2023 facilitate the kick-off ceremony for the Nigerian Content Human Capital Development Project-Based Training for Thirty-Four (34) Trainees in collaboration with SPDC and Unitech Drilling Company Limited. The kick-off ceremony was conducted at Ambong Energy Services Limited facility, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The training which is being executed on the back of SPDC/Unitech Drilling Company Limited’s Provision of Directional Drilling Services Contract.
It is said to covers intensive classroom and hands-on/on-the-job training/experience for twelve months in line with the objectives, aspirations and philosophy of the NOGICD Act 2010, and the Guideline for Nigerian Content Human Capital Development Implementation 2020.
The training disciplines include:
•Rotary Drilling – Well Control
•Well Design and Engineering
•Appointed Person for Lifting
Operations
•Banksman & Slinger
The training is intended to build skilled, competent, professional, employable, and globally competitive workforce to support operations, activities, and services in the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry.
The trainees will be awarded industry acceptable and internationally recognised certifications, including IADC, IWCF Level 2 etc.
The Board was represented by the Manager, Human Capital Development (HCD), Mr. Timbiri Augustine and Supervisor HCD, Mr. Okonte-Jonah Moses. Also in attendance were representatives from SPDC, Unitech Drilling Company Limited, and Ambong Energy Services Limited.
