Nasarawa University to Confer Honorary Degree on Tanzanian President

Management of Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) says it’ll confer honorary degree on the Tanzanian President, Mrs Samia Hassan during its forthcoming 8th combined convocation ceremony.

 

Prof. Sa’adatu Liman, Vice Chancellor of the university made the disclosure at a press conference held in Keffi local government area of Nasarawa state on Wednesday.

According to Liman, the honorary doctorate degree will be bestowed on the Tanzanian President and two others in line with the rules of the National Universities Commission (NUC) at the 8th combined convocation scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026.

 

“We also have two other personalities in the persons of Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu, Chairman of BUA Group and lastly we have Dr Mahmood Ahmed who will also awarded on that day,” she said.

She noted that several other activities have been earmarked for the 8th combined convocation ceremony and also the university’s 25th year anniversary to include an interdenominational church service, special Jumaat prayers, sanitation exercise and medical outreach in the university’s host community.

 

“We will also have a novelty football match on Thursday between VC NSUK team and VC Bingham University team. On Friday we will have some of our major events which includes a Silver Jubilee lecture and later our traditional convocation lecture.

 

“On Saturday we will start with commissioning of projects at 9am before proceeding to the convocation ground for the convocation ceremony,” she said.

 

Liman then expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed in one way or the other to the growth and development of Nasarawa State University Keffi since inception. END
