50 pupils of the St. Mary Catholic School Papiri Agwara LGA have escaped and reunited with their parents.
A statement by the Niger State Police Command, signed by its Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun indicates that aside the 50 pupils that escaped and have returned home, 253 children including 12 teachers are still with the abductors.
The statement pleaded for calm as government intensifies efforts through various security agencies to rescue the remaining students, pupils and their teachers still in captivity.
