Passengers using Max Air flight from Yola to Abuja has reported that the aircraft’s tyres got damaged, which led to a delay in the flight.
The passenger recounted the ordeal to TG News, describing it as one of the most challenging experiences of their life, and expressed thanks for escaping unharmed.
A Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) official, speaking on condition of anonymity, reported that arrangements were being made to transport four tyres from Abuja to Yola Airport.
The official said a plane will arrive from Yobe and transport the tyres to Yola tonight for repair.
However, the official emphasised that the situation was under control and that there was no cause for concern.
The aircraft, which was scheduled to depart at 5:15 pm, experienced tire issues while preparing for takeoff with 113 passengers on board.
According to reports, efforts to reach FAAN for confirmation and comments on Sunday night failed.
