Director-General, Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), Lekan Fatodu has assured management and staff of adequate welfare, charging them to discharge their duties assiduously.
Fatodu emphasised that the development of sports is not a one-man affair but a collective responsibility, reaffirming the commitment of the state government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to take sports to an enviable height.
Interacting with the members of staff at the inaugural meeting held recently at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, the newly appointed Director-General implored the staff to work hand in hand with him for the Commission to move forward and achieve the THEMES Plus agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
He assured staff that he would run an open-door policy where individuals would be free to contribute effectively to the progress of the Sports Commission towards delivering on its mandate of making the state the hub of sports, not only in Nigeria but in Africa.
Fatodu stated that the commitment and dedication of staff will enable the agency to achieve its objectives, stating that everyone has a role to play in attaining set goals of developing sports and empowering the youth in Lagos State.
“We’ll drive inclusiveness together and promote sports development. Nobody in this place is a superhuman, we all depend on each other. By depending on each other, holding hands together, we can be able to solve some of our problems and drive the vision of this Commission”, he added.
The Director-General stated further that the responsibility is huge and can not be carried by one individual, adding that it can only be achieved by the collective commitment and resolve of every member of the Commission.
