The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has decided to play blame game on the recent nationwide blackout, blaming it on shortage of gas supply while the reviving of nation’s economy which depends more on power supply delays.
Recalling that President Tinubu-led administration has made it clear that performance is a big yardstick for all Federal government ministries, parastatals and Agencies.
Adelabu has blame gas constraints on thermal generating companies for the drop in power
This was disclosed in a statement on Friday by Bolaji Tunji, special adviser, strategic communication and media relation to the Minister of Power.
Though he said the federal government is working to ensure outstanding payments are made to power generation companies to resolve the declining electricity supply.
Hear him, “This is mainly due to a decreased gas supply to generation companies.
“This situation has led to a lower level of energy supplied to load centres, affecting the electricity supply to distribution companies.
“This will also enable distribution companies to supply more electricity to Nigerians.
“We acknowledge the unsustainable situation and expect a turnaround immediately.”
