Delta state gubernatorial candidate of Social Democratic Party SDP, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi OON has assured youths in the state of gainful governance that would maximise their potentials for greatness in the drive to liberate the state from leadership of stagnation when elected next governor of the state.

Gbagi expressed the assurance before an assembly of Catholic Youths of Nigeria, Isoko North Local Government Area wing in furtherance of his “meet the people’s tour’ to spread his message of hope for a better Delta state aways from the culture of retrogressive leadership the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has subjected the state.

He told the youths gathering, “I have come to address your problems. What will happen when I emerge as governor? I was once a federal Minister of the federal Republic of Nigeria and if you find out I did not live in government house, I did not drive government cars and my salaries were paid to pensioners.

“Those who use security to prevent people from them have limitations. l have policemen here but they cannot prevent you from seeing me. In any case I am Mr. Security and as a criminologist, I will not stop people from seeing me.

“I believe the solution is very simple. I have entered a covenant with the church that I will create a religious ministry in Delta state and by the grace of God that way we will have pathways to walk together.

“My course is very simple, unless these youths are out of the street and gainfully engaged, Delta state is gone. Don’t forget you don’t hear the same agitations of youths in Delta state as you hear in Rivers and Lagos states. They are they are better engaged than the youths in Delta State.

“Infact a lot of youths here in Delta state are running to Lagos, Rivers and even Bayelsa state because you do not search for an entrepreneural mind, everyday between my two plazas, I have over six thousand (6,000) youths running through the system.

“Now let me give you an example, this is Isoko North I believe, we do not have up to one thousand (1,000) youths in Isoko North, what we will do as a sensible government is to take of the farmlands here. l will generate one billion, Isoko have a very good farming land, I will generate one billion. I will plant rice, uncle Ben’s rice will do very well here, I have done by survey and I know what am going to do.

“So from the day I am sworn in as governor, I will take all the youths as they are not plenty and start paying them Thirty Naira (N30,000) whilst preparing them with uniform, I will bring an Isreal man who will be guiding them, get your Kings and DPO to be involved. I will then start irrigating your lands, get youths uniform so that they will be respected doing farming and that is the greatest source while I take some of you and put in your ministries and administration.

“And if that is not enough I will take some of your land and do poultry as we can do half a million chicken everyday from when we start. I will also farm cucumbers and can them then ship to different countries for those who want to do farming or administration jobs will be employed and will earn one hundred thousand and I will collect 5% tax but you will become better persons just to redirect your system.

“Unless we produce food, our children, youths go off the street, the economy is dead. The measurement for Delta state that all of these graduates are talking is because there is no direction, no entrepreneur mindset, if we have a governor who is not a civil servant, who do not believe in that earning of N15 billion every month which they share to themselves so if you still bring another civil servant who does not have business sense, you are just wasting time.

“I earn a lot of revenue, own the tallest building in Lagos, I have never seen government money nor taking kobo from the present government even though I contributed in putting him in office. The reason why they are worried and afraid of Kenneth Gbagi is because I will not participate and I don’t need tax payers money because taxpayers money must be used properly.

“And you sitting here, they come and deceive you with some money. I will do a lot having seen my Reverend father here, I will assist you in such a way that we will say, we want to build more Catholic churches. So I will leave with you one million Naira to support your effort as Catholics.

Rev Father Ogbeni on the occasion encouraged the youths to vote their conscience, remembering the current suffering in the state which affects the youths and the church more, just as he prayed God to be with the governorship hopeful SDP in his bid to be next Delta governor.

He told Gbagi that, “The awareness is beginning to be there that power belongs to the masses. I thank God that the political awareness is now getting to the of each and every individual. We our prayer that Catholics especially in Delta state become governor so that the church can be involved in directing part of governance.

“In the history of Delta state, I am aware that the Catholic church has never been able to produce a governor and the Catholic church has decided to liaise with the government. The awareness is beginning to be there that power belong to the masses.

“I assure you Christ faithfuls who are gathered here and I believe they have good conscience and they can make the right choice. The church is is the ‘home for all’ that is why we welcome whosoever comes to the church and we pray for you that you will be successful in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and by God’s grace you will emerge as you have this good heart to lead the people of God, I pray that God will miraculously do it for you through Christ out Lord. Amen.”

As we embark in this mission, you take the lead, we follow”

The occasion also witnessed financial supports from the governorship hopeful and his campaign team to assist the work of the Catholic youths, including assistance to those affected by the current devastating flood.
