Chelsea suffered an embarrassing defeat against Leeds United at Elland Road on Sunday.
Leeds won 3-0, handing the Blues, who drew their last game against Tottenham Spurs at Stamford Bridge, their first defeat this season.
Edouard Mendy’s howler gave Leeds their opener. Mendy had refused to clear out a pass and attempted dribbling Aaronson who smartly snatched the ball and walked it into Mendy’s net.
Minutes later, Rodrigo Moreno beats James Reece to Jack Harrison’s free-kick, burying it into Chelsea’s net with a header.
Thomas Tuchel’s side went into the halftime break behind home side, hoping to return for possible come back in the second half.
But it was not to be as Leeds continued the damage in the second half.
The Blues were still struggling to find their rhythm in the game when Harrison swept in a cross from Dan James in the 69th minute, increasing Leeds lead margin.
Chelsea’s Sunday afternoon woes were compounded after Kalidou Koulibaly was sent off after his second booking of the game. Referee Stuart Attwell booked Kalidou was booked for hacking down Gelhardt.
Leeds have now moved to second on the EPL log with seven points in three games, pending the outcome of Manchester City’s game. Chelsea on the other hand are 12th on the log with four points in three games.
Leeds have drawn two and lost 5 of their games against Chelsea. Sunday’s victory is their first in eight games against the Blues.
